Many Japanese Companies Enter OLED Industry.
Toshiba Corp demonstrated its first OLED product at 2012 LED lighting Technology Expo in Tokyo. Though the company has not disclosed when it will start mass production, the person in charge said that Toshiba will try to expand its market share.
A lot of Japanese companies are speeding up the development of OLED lighting businesses.
Panasonic Corp, Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc., Pioneer Corp and Lumiotec started sale of OLED lighting last year. Also NEC Lighting Ltd is in the final stages of launching OLED products.
Panasonic’s panels (10cm x 10cm) sell for about 30,000 Yen per unit and Konica Minolta’s sample kits sell for 157,500 Yen four panels.
